Zvishavane’s first commercial radio station, YAFM, will launch on Friday the 25 of September.
Said radio chairman Munyaradzi Hwengwere, a former principal press officer in the President's Office, and a past ZBC CEO, on Radio Dialogue: “YaFM is a station that focuses on all miners from different communities in the country and owing to digital age, we want to establish this particular platform while generating audiences before we start to broadcast.”
The station will broadcast within a 60km radius of the asbestos mining town.
Meanwhile AB Communications CEO Susan Makore told Gweru Today that FayaFM had failed to start broadcasting in Gweru late August as planned.
She blamed unforeseen logistical challenges.
